91-99 Jeep Cherokee Aluminum Exhaust Header Gasket
Aluminum construction gasket engineered for 91–99 Cherokee header applications. Resists thermal cycling and exhaust temperatures without warping. Precise fitment for consistent sealing at the header-to-manifold joint.
Do I need to replace the header bolts when I install this gasket?
The gasket itself is a direct replacement. Whether you reuse existing bolts depends on their condition — if they're corroded or stripped, swap them out. Most builders torque header fasteners to factory spec with a new gasket, so refer to your Cherokee service manual for the correct torque value.
Should I clean the header surface before installing this?
Yes. Remove any old gasket material and carbon buildup from both the header and manifold surfaces with a wire brush or gasket scraper. A clean, flat surface is critical for proper sealing — don't skip this step.
Can I reuse the old bolts, or do these need new fasteners?
Reusing bolts is fine if they're in good shape and not stripped. If any are damaged or corroded, replace the set. Aluminum gaskets seat differently than standard ones, so make sure bolts are tight but not over-torqued — check your service manual for spec.
