89-90 Nissan 240SX SOHC Exhaust Header Gasket
Replacement gasket designed for SOHC header mounting on early 240SX models. Seals the critical joint between header and cylinder head to prevent exhaust leaks and maintain combustion chamber integrity. Direct fit for factory header applications.
Do I need to clean the header and cylinder head surfaces before installing this gasket?
Yes. Scrape away any old gasket material and carbon buildup from both mounting surfaces with a gasket scraper or soft wire brush. A clean, flat surface ensures proper sealing and prevents exhaust leaks.
What torque specs should I use when bolting the header back down?
Refer to your vehicle's service manual for the correct fastener torque sequence and values. Uneven or over-torqued bolts can warp the gasket or crack the cylinder head.
Can I reuse the old header bolts, or do I need new ones?
Header bolts are typically reusable if they're not stripped or damaged. Inspect them for corrosion or wear before reinstalling. If you're unsure, new bolts are cheap insurance against a leak.
