1997-2004 Ford F150 Upper Tailgate Molding
Genuine upper tailgate trim that restores the factory edge detail on F150 pickup beds. Hard panel construction engineered to match OEM profile and fitment. Direct replacement for worn, cracked, or missing molding.
Do I need new hardware to install this?
This molding uses the factory mounting holes on your tailgate, so hardware is not needed if your existing fasteners are still good. If yours are stripped or missing, standard fasteners from any hardware store will work—just grab what matches your bed bolt size.
Can I paint this before installation?
You can paint it after install for a cleaner fit, or tape it off and spray it beforehand if you prefer. Either way, light sanding and a primer coat will help paint stick better to the hard panel surface.
What if my tailgate has surface rust or damage where this mounts?
Clean off any rust or old sealant where the molding will sit—a wire brush works fast—so the new piece seats flat and doesn't rock. Any gaps will trap moisture and cause problems later.
