1989-1997 Mazda Miata MX-5 Exhaust Header Stainless Steel
Stainless steel header built to flow better and resist corrosion without the rust issues of mild steel. Precision-welded construction handles daily driving and track use. Direct bolt-on design cuts installation time.
Do I need to use a gasket between the header and cylinder head?
Yes. Use a quality OEM or multi-layer gasket rated for your engine's compression and heat. Apply a thin coat of high-temp gasket sealer before installation to prevent leaks.
Will this header bolt straight to my stock manifold mounting points?
It's designed for direct bolt-on installation, but test-fit first. Minor exhaust routing clearance varies by year and engine bay configuration—verify your setup before final tightening.
Does stainless steel require special handling or prep before install?
No special prep needed. Stainless resists corrosion on its own. Wipe off any manufacturing residue with a clean rag before mounting. Torque fasteners to your service manual specification to avoid warping.
