00-06 Volkswagen Beetle Golf Jetta Front Transmission Sensor
Direct-fit transmission speed sensor for early 2000s VW manual and automatic transmissions. This is the component your engine management system reads to monitor gear engagement and shift timing. OEM replacement part, ready to bolt in.
Will this clear a transmission code?
Yes. If you're running a transmission speed error code (P0500, P0501, or similar), this sensor will resolve it once installed correctly. Make sure the connector is fully seated.
Do I need any special tools to swap this out?
Basic hand tools and a jack are all you need. The sensor sits on the transmission housing and is accessed from underneath the vehicle. Consult your service manual for the exact location and any torque specs for your transmission type.
What if my transmission still has issues after install?
This sensor only monitors speed — it doesn't repair mechanical transmission problems. If you're seeing shifting hesitation, slipping, or grinding after installation, have the transmission fluid and filter checked, or get a full diagnostic done by a transmission shop.
